Anwar: Repair of Utan Kayu River Sheet Pile must Be Accelerated

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar instructs the East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) and Parks and City Forest Sub-agency to speed up the handling of the collapsed sheet pile in Utan Kayu River, Matraman. It aims to anticipate further landslides during the rainy season.

According to him, these two technical units must work together so that when heavy rain occurs, there will be no more serious landslides and many trees on the riverbank will fall.

Collapsed Sheet Pile on Utan Kayu River being Repaired

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Maintenance Section Head, Puryanto Palebangan explained the collapsed sheet pile was being repaired by a third party.

Along the Utan Kayu River, there are four points for repairing retaining walls that are damaged and on the verge of collapsing with a total length of around 200 meters.

Two of these points have been repaired with the installation of river stones equipped with cast concrete sloops at the top, bottom, and middle.

One point is under construction, but a landslide occurred on Sunday (11/3) night. While another point has not been excavated at all.

"At the landslide point, work has begun again by installing river stones and cast concrete sloops on the bottom layer. For those that have not yet been installed with river stones, dolken wood has been installed to hold them up," he stated.
